; Model Application Form - Hens with Pens

Thank you for your interest in modelling for Hens with Pens!
Please review the following information about the role.

What would be involved in my role as a model for HwP?
Modelling for Hens with Pens involves travelling to hen parties to model for them as part of a life drawing (art) class. Venues may be urban or rural, and could be private homes, hotel/pub function rooms, or rented holiday accommodations. The life drawing room is always private and sealed off from the public. Classes have a fun atmosphere with a “Parisian artist” theme – hens wear beret and moustache costumes, and we supply them with retro swing music.

You would spend 1 hour modelling for the participants, who will be drawing you. A tutor will be present to direct the class and give you guidance on how to pose. You would need to maintain a series of still, nude poses for up to 20 minutes each. No photography would be allowed unless you say so. Classes have a fun theme, but we maintain a professional atmosphere.

You would need to take a robe and a bottle of water to each class, and place the robe on any furniture you sit/lie on. You would need to wear your robe in between poses, when walking around/chatting to hens.

How often would you offer me work? Am I obliged to accept work? What is my employment status?
As a model for Hens with Pens, you would be working on a freelance basis, meaning that you are responsible for your own tax and accounting. We would offer you bookings on an ad-hoc basis, and you would be free to accept or decline these according to your availability. Before accepting a booking, you would need to check that you can definitely get to the venue (check transport options) and that you have no other commitments on that day.

Nearly all our bookings are at weekends, and the busiest period is February-June.
If you are based in a more remote area, we will probably offer you occasional work. If you are based in a major city, and you do well on your first few bookings, following our guidelines, you can expect to be offered multiple bookings each weekend during busy periods.

What gender are the groups/tutors? Can you tell me if the group live locally to me?
We don’t take this information from hens, and it’s possible that the hens may be coming from several locations – some may be local and some may not.

We welcome mixed and LGBT+ groups, and we don’t check the gender of the groups, so this isn’t something we can inform you of in advance. We set boundaries of expected behaviour with all groups in advance. Likewise, all our tutors are experienced and professional artists, and we don’t liaise with models over the gender of the class tutor.

How much would I get paid, and how do I get paid?
Pay rates are competitive, ranging from £50 per hour plus allowances. The travel allowance is our contribution towards your travel expenses, including fuel, tolls, parking and public transport. You would not need to send us any receipts – just calculate your travel allowance and invoice us.

Before accepting a booking, you would need to check that you could realistically travel to the venue and fulfil the job for the fee + travel allowance. We would not be able to pay further travel expenses.

After the booking, we would need you to send us an invoice, and we will then pay you via BACS or Paypal within 10 working days.
